DESCRIPTION
This two-piece wool and mohair suit is of Swedish origin, produced by Magni and sold by Hedbergs, a chain of shops that existed in several Swedish cities at the time. The suit is navy blue in colour, and the fabric features a subtle stripe pattern with closely spaced stripes in a darker shade of blue.
The jacket is double-breasted and features a button arrangement characteristic of the period, with two rows of buttons placed relatively low in a square formation. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole in the left lapel. The cuffs have three buttons. The back is plain and closed, without vents. Internally, the jacket is fully lined and has three inner pockets, two on the left side and one on the right.
The trousers have double forward pleats, slightly slanted front pockets and belt loops. There are buttons for braces inside the waistband. The fly is fitted with a zip fastening.
The overall condition is good, although there are a couple of points worth noting. There is some slight discolouration to the jacket lining around the armpits. At some point, the trousers have been let out at the waist, and the fabric in the added section has developed a little pilling for some reason. Should the trousers be altered back to their original waist size, this would no longer be visible. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion of the condition.
