DESCRIPTION
This navy blue peacoat is of Swedish origin and is marked "CBV", which stands for Centrala Beklädnadscentralen — a former government agency responsible for supplying clothing to the Swedish military. Unfortunately, there is no visible date label, but the coat was produced sometime during the 1950s or 1960s. Aside from the label, there is little to indicate its military background.
It is made from a heavy navy wool fabric and features a double-breasted front with four rows of buttons, plus an additional button for fastening all the way up to the neck. The coat has horizontal front pockets with large flaps. Each lapel has a buttonhole. The back is straight and has no vent — it is fully closed. The interior is half-lined with a silk fabric and has an inside pocket on the left-hand side.
The condition is near perfect, with only minor signs of wear to the buttonholes and some slight discolouration on the inside of the collar. However, this does not detract from the overall impression. Please refer to the photos to make your own assessment of the condition.
