DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin and bears the Strands label. It was produced around 1960 and is deadstock, meaning completely unworn. It still retains its original labels, both on the jacket and the trousers. The suit is tailored from a period-typical mid-grey wool fabric with a subtle mélange effect incorporating hints of brown. This is only noticeable upon close inspection of the cloth, however - the overall impression is grey.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal front pockets with flaps as well as a breast pocket. The left lapel has a buttonhole. The back is plain and closed, without a vent. Internally, the jacket is fully lined and fitted with three inner pockets: one larger pocket on each side and a smaller additional pocket on the left-hand side.
The trousers feature a single forward pleat and slanted front pockets. They have a zip fly and belt loops at the waistband. At the rear, there is one jetted pocket on each side, both with button fastening.
As previously mentioned, the suit is entirely unworn, and the condition reflects this - quite simply immaculate. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
This suit is of a smaller size, with the label marked “16 years”. Converted to modern sizing, it falls between an EU 42 (UK/US 32) and an EU 44 (UK/US 34). Within that range, the jacket fits slightly larger while the trousers fit slightly smaller. The trousers do, however, have some additional seam allowance to allow the waist to be let out if required. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
