DESCRIPTION
This elegant overcoat is of Swedish origin and was bespoke tailored in December 1943 at J.E. Widén’s gentlemen’s tailoring establishment in Stockholm. It is made from a black wool cloth and features a black Persian lamb collar.
The coat is double-breasted with three rows of buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with pocket flaps and decorative turn-ups at the cuffs. The back is straight with a single vent. Internally, the body of the coat is lined with what is most likely brown sheepskin. It has two inner pockets, one on each side: the right one is horizontal and the left one vertical.
Considering the coat’s age and construction, the condition is excellent. No obvious damage can be seen on either the fur lining or the outer cloth. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion of the condition.
SIZE
In size, it corresponds to a modern EU 48 (US/UK 38). As always with overcoats, the fit depends greatly on what is worn underneath. Please note that our stated size is calculated on the assumption that the coat is worn over a jacket. Kindly scroll down for the exact measurements.
