SWEDISH 1930S/1940S BLACK TWO PIECE SUIT BY TIGER. SIZE CA EU 50 (US/UK40)

 DESCRIPTION

This suit is of Swedish origin and was most likely produced around 1940 by Tiger, one of Sweden's best-known ready-to-wear clothing manufacturers. It was originally sold by a retailer named Mobergs in the town of Kumla, in central Sweden. The suit is tailored from a black cloth with a subtle woven texture.

The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features jetted horizontal hip pockets and a breast pocket. The left lapel has a buttonhole. The back is plain, with no vent. The interior is fully lined and fitted with two inside pockets, one on each side.

The trousers feature double forward pleats, gently slanted side pockets, and belt loops. They have a button fly, while buttons for braces are fitted to the inside of the waistband. The hems are finished with turn-ups. At the rear are two pockets, one on each side, both with pocket flaps and button fastenings.

Overall, the suit is in very good condition. The only points worth mentioning are a few minor imperfections that are not visible when the suit is being worn. For example, there is some light discolouration to the jacket lining around the armholes. There is also a little wear to the uppermost buttonhole on the trouser fly. The trouser lining likewise shows some minor areas of discolouration. Considering the suit's age, however, it has been exceptionally well preserved.
