DESCRIPTION
This is a very fine overcoat, most likely of Swedish origin. Judging by its construction, it was made sometime during the 1920s and was tailor-made, even though there is no tailor’s label to confirm this. It is made from a heavy brown wool cloth and features a black Persian lamb fur collar.
The coat is double-breasted with three rows of buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps. At the back it features a half-belt and is closed, with no vent. Internally, the body is lined with brown sheepskin. There is also fur lining at the ends of the sleeves to prevent cold air from entering. It has one inner pocket on the left-hand side.
What sets this coat apart from other fur-lined coats is the fit. It has an unusually elegant silhouette for such a heavily fur-lined garment. Fur-lined coats from this period are typically very straight in cut, as the thick fur makes it difficult to achieve anything else. This coat, however, has a relatively slim fit and even shows some waist suppression.
As for the condition, it is good considering the coat’s age and construction. The overall impression is positive, but on closer inspection a number of flaws can be found. There is some wear in places, including at the sleeve ends and around the pockets. There is also some damage to the fur, mostly on the inside, which is not visible when the coat is worn, but there is also a small area of damage to the collar on the front of the coat. This is visible in the photographs. Although such damage is difficult to repair, it can be disguised significantly if desired. There are also some minor stains. However, the coat is entirely unique, which means a certain tolerance for minor damage and wear may be required. Please study the photographs and form your own opinion regarding the condition.

In size, it corresponds to a modern EU 46 (US/UK 36). Please note that our sizing is calculated on the assumption that the coat is worn over a jacket.
