DESCRIPTION
This 1930s/1940s wool suiting fabric is of Swedish origin. It´s a mid grey striped fabric with a red line going every 2.5 cm (every inch). Like most of the Swedish fabrics from this era it is much heavier than the suiting fabrics of today in general. It has a width of 156 cm.
This is a type of fabric that you would typically see in a Swedish 1940s two-piece double breasted suit, but it would of course work perfectly well for other configurations too. A very well balanced fabric!

Most of the vintage suiting and coating fabrics sold here are either of Swedish, British or German origin.
They are typically heavier than suiting fabrics of today, and because of the higher weight (thicker weave) they behave differently when worn. This is the reason reproduction clothing using modern fabric is so easily identified as reproduction. And this makes true vintage suiting fabrics sought after not only by vintage enthousists but also by filmmakers or anyone else who wants as much realism as possible. The quality is of very high standard in general.
Regarding the weight, please note that the weight stated in ounzes refers to the weight per length meter, which is 1.5 meters. We use this value to make in easier for buyers to compare the weight with fabrics from modern producers, as they use this value in general to accounce the weight of their fabrics.
Available in various values and valid for our whole selection of both vintage and new products.
