DESCRIPTION
This overcoat was tailor-made in Norway, most likely during the 1950s, although it could possibly date from slightly earlier. Unfortunately, there is no label indicating the date, but the tailor's label is still present inside the collar. Regrettably, we have been unable to determine the exact name of the tailoring firm. It is made from a grey melange wool fabric that is somewhat lighter in weight than we typically see in overcoats from this period. It is still very much a winter coat, but in this respect it stands apart from most of the vintage overcoats we offer.
The coat is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, two of which are functional. It has horizontal flap pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole in the left lapel. The back is plain with a single vent. The cuffs are finished with four buttons. As the buttonholes are not sewn through, the sleeve length can be altered relatively easily if required. Inside, the coat is fully lined and features two inside pockets, one on each side.
The condition is excellent. We have been unable to find any flaws, and it appears to have seen very little use. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
It corresponds approximately to a modern EU 48 (UK/US 38). Please scroll down for the exact measurements and seam allowances.
