DESCRIPTION

This hat is of Italian origin and was produced by Barbisio – a manufacturer often overshadowed by its more famous competitor Borsalino, though the quality of Barbisio's hats was fully on par with theirs. It was most likely made sometime during the 1930s or possibly the 1940s. The hat was originally imported to Sweden and sold by Ströms, one of the few classic menswear outfitters in Stockholm that still exists today.

The felt is a medium grey shade and features a black hatband. The interior is lined with a light silk fabric and bears the manufacturer's logo. The sweatband is in brown leather and features the name of the importer as well as the initials of the original owner.

The condition is very good, with no visible signs of wear. The excellent state of the leather band suggests that the hat has seen very little – if any – use. Please refer to the photos to form your own impression of the condition.

SIZE

The hat has a small size label inside – "59" – but our own measurement shows the actual size is slightly smaller: 58. It can be stretched approximately half a size using a hat stretcher, if desired. Please scroll down for detailed measurements.
