DESCRIPTION
These slender Balmoral boots are of American origin. They were most likely produced sometime during the 1920s or 1930s. The shape of the toe cap closely resembles other American shoes from the 1930s in our collection. The leather appears to be goatskin. The upper part of the shoe is made of black cotton fabric. The interior is lined with light canvas.
In terms of condition, they are generally good, with no major damage. The leather is in fine overall condition. The leather soles show little sign of wear. It should be noted, however, that the toe caps have at some point been treated with leather care products, which has caused slight cracking on the surface. There is also a minimal mark on the leather of the right shoe just above the toe cap. Please study the photographs to form your own assessment of the condition.
SIZE
The interior of the shoes is marked 11½ D, American size, which corresponds well with the actual measurements. The insole length equates to a modern EU 44.5. The width is “D”, considered standard, so these are not as narrow in fit as many other contemporary shoes.
