SWEDISH 1910S/1920S DARK BLUE STRAIGHT CUT NECKTIE WITH DIAGONAL PATTERN

DESCRIPTION

This tie was originally sold by a gentlemen's outfitter named Åkerslunds in Tomelilla, southern Sweden. A search for the name today yields no results, which is perhaps not surprising. The tie has most likely passed the 100-year mark, and the shop itself has almost certainly been gone for many decades.

The tie is dark blue in colour and features a horizontal pattern in light grey. Horizontal stripes are relatively uncommon on ties, but this is not its only distinctive feature. Both ends are cut square rather than pointed and are finished with short fringes instead.

The condition is excellent, there is a small tear in the fabric low down on one side, but it does not detract from the overall impression. Please examine the photographs carefully and form your own assessment of the condition.
