ITALIAN 1930S/1940S DARK BROWN FELT HAT BY BARBISIO. SIZE EU 57

DESCRIPTION 

This hat is of Italian origin and was produced by the legendary hatmaker Barbisio, most likely sometime during the 1930s, or possibly the 1940s. It was imported into Sweden and sold new by Söderbergs, a clothing store located in Uppsala.

In colour, it is dark brown and features a matching hatband. The interior is lined with a light silk fabric bearing the Barbisio logo as well as the importer’s name. It has a light brown leather sweatband, which, in addition to the Barbisio and importer’s names, also bears the original owner’s initials.

The overall condition is good, although the crown shows some wear along the front edge, right at the crease. There is also a small mark on the underside of the brim. However, due to its placement, this mark is not visible when the hat is worn. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion of the condition.

The inner circumference of the hat measures 57 centimeters. It can be stretched approximately half a size using a hat stretcher. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
