DESCRIPTION
This hat is of British origin. It was made by Joseph Wilson & Sons, most likely sometime during the 1930s or 1940s, and was imported into Sweden by Törner & Sandström, a men’s outfitter in Gothenburg.
The colour is somewhat difficult to describe, but it is a muted blue tone with a strong grey element. It features a hatband with a slight purple hue - a very attractive colour combination. The interior is also very tastefully colour-coordinated, lined with a rose-lilac silk fabric bearing both the manufacturer’s and the importer’s names. It has a light brown leather sweatband, with the maker’s name stamped in gold.
The overall condition is very good. The only point to note is a small mark on the top of the crown, which is not visible unless the hat is inspected very closely. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition.
SIZE
The inner circumference of the hat measures 55,5 centimeters. It can be stretched approximately half a size using a hat stretcher. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
