DESCRIPTION
This is a robust tweed cloth in a colour that is rarely seen, making it ideal for, for example, a standalone jacket. The label is in French, but we have reason to believe that the fabric was produced in England. However, the label may originate from a French retailer. The colour can best be described as steel grey. There is some damage to the cloth, which has been marked by the manufacturer. A tailor should, however, be able to work around these flaws without them affecting the overall fabric yield.

Most of the vintage suiting and coating fabrics sold here are either of Swedish, British or German origin.
They are typically heavier than suiting fabrics of today, and because of the higher weight (thicker weave) they behave differently when worn. This is the reason reproduction clothing using modern fabric is so easily identified as reproduction. And this makes true vintage suiting fabrics sought after not only by vintage enthousists but also by filmmakers or anyone else who wants as much realism as possible. The quality is of very high standard in general.
Regarding the weight, please note that the weight stated in ounzes refers to the weight per length meter, which is 1.5 meters. We use this value to make in easier for buyers to compare the weight with fabrics from modern producers, as they use this value in general to accounce the weight of their fabrics.
