SWEDISH 1940S/1950S BROWN/GREY SINGLE TROUSERS. SIZE CA EU 56 (US/UK 46)

DESCRIPTION

These trousers bear no label. It is possible that they were originally part of a suit, with the label having been attached to the jacket, but we can nevertheless say with a high degree of confidence that they are of Swedish origin. They were most likely tailored during the second half of the 1940s, or perhaps a few years later. The cloth features a small houndstooth-style pattern. When examined closely, it consists of brown and grey yarns, although from a distance the overall impression is distinctly grey.

The trousers feature a single forward pleat, gently slanted side pockets, and a zip fly. It is worth noting that they were originally made with a button fly, which was converted to a zip fastening at some point in their history. They also feature so-called tunnel loops, meaning that when worn with a belt, much of the belt sits concealed within a channel running around the waistband. Buttons for braces are fitted to the inside of the waistband. At the rear are two pockets, one on each side, both with pocket flaps and button fastenings.

Overall, the trousers are in good condition, although there is one point worth mentioning. There is a stain near the fly which has remained despite cleaning. It is possible that it could be removed with further specialist treatment, although we cannot guarantee this. The studio lighting makes the stain appear more pronounced than it is in person, but once you know it is there, it can certainly be noticed. The price has been set with this flaw in mind. Please examine the photographs carefully and form your own assessment of the condition.
