SWEDISH 1920S MORNING SUIT TROUSERS BY PUB. SIZE CA EU 52-54 (US/UK42-44)

DESCRIPTION

These trousers are of Swedish origin, likely made sometime during the 1920s, by PUB, a well known department store in Stockholm. They are intended to be worn with a morning jacket and waistcoat, and feature a traditional striped pattern. They are made from a heavy wool fabric. They are designed with a high waist, no front pleats, and the buttons for braces are placed on the outside of the waistband. They have vertical front pockets and a button fly. At the back, they have a fishtail and an adjustable buckle for waist size. There are also two back pockets with piping, one on each side. They lack cuffs. All of these details are typically seen in trousers from even earlier, before the 1920s. However, traditional formal trousers continued to be made in this style for a long time, despite changes in the "general" suit trouser fashion. 

The condition is good, though not perfect. There are a few minor discolourations to the fabric, and there is also a small area of damage to the fabric on the inside of the left leg. Please study the photographs and form your own view as to the condition.
