SWEDISH 1960S BLACK AND WHITE HOUNDSTOOTH TWO PIECE SUIT BY RANG. SIZE CA EU 46-48 (US/UK 36-38)

DESCRIPTION

This suit is of Swedish origin and bears the Rang label, a Swedish ready-to-wear brand. The cloth is British. The suit was produced sometime during the 1960s. The cloth features a distinctive black-and-white houndstooth pattern, a truly classic suiting cloth that is nevertheless not something we come across particularly often in Swedish suits.

The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole in the left lapel. There are three buttons at each cuff. At the back, it is straight-cut and has double vents. Internally, the jacket is fully lined and has three internal pockets: one large pocket on each side, plus an additional pocket on the left.

The trousers have a single front pleat and slightly slanted front pockets. They have a zip fly and belt loops. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, the right-hand pocket being slightly larger and having a button fastening.

The overall condition is very good, and the condition of the lining suggests that the suit has seen very little use. The only damage we have been able to find is a small hole in the trousers. This has little impact on the overall appearance, however, and requires fairly close inspection to notice. Please study the photos and form your own impression of the condition.

SIZE

The suit corresponds approximately to a modern EU 46–48 (US/UK 36–38). There is some extra material in the trousers to let them out if required, particularly in terms of length. If the existing length is retained, there is enough material to add turn-ups, should this be desired. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
