DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin, bearing the Essge label, and was produced sometime during the 1960s. It was sold new at Nils Lindhe in Gothenburg. It is made from Dormeuil’s Tonik cloth, which was launched in the late 1950s and was popular at the time this suit was made. The cloth consists of 50% mohair and 50% wool.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole in the left lapel. There are four buttons at each cuff. At the back, it is straight-cut and has double, relatively short vents. Internally, it is fully lined and has four internal pockets: three on the left side and one on the right.
The trousers have a single front pleat and slightly slanted front pockets. They have a zip fly. At the back, they are completely plain, with no rear pockets.
The condition is excellent, with no significant damage to note. The lining is also in very good condition, suggesting that the suit has seen little use, if any. Please study the photos carefully and form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
In terms of sizing, the suit corresponds to a modern EU 50 (US/UK 40). There is some extra seam allowance in the trousers, allowing them to be let out by a few centimetres at both the waist and the hem, if required. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
