SWEDISH 1940S/1950S DARK GREY TWO PIECE SUIT BY ISACSONS. SIZE CA EU 52-54 (US/UK 42-44)

DESCRIPTION

This suit is of Swedish origin. It was sold new at Isacsons in Mariefred, most likely sometime in the latter half of the 1940s or possibly in the early 1950s. It is made from a dark grey cloth with a touch of blue.

The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with welted openings, as well as a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole in the left lapel. The back is straight and has a single vent. Inside, the jacket is fully lined and has three inner pockets – one large pocket on each side, plus a smaller one on the left.

The trousers are high-waisted and have a single front pleat and slightly slanted front pockets. They have belt loops and a button fly. On the inside of the waistband, there are buttons for braces.

The overall condition of the suit is very good, and externally it is close to perfect. Inside, however, there are some minor areas of discolouration in the lining of both the jacket and trousers. This is of course not visible when the suit is worn. Please study the photographs and form your own opinion of the condition.
