DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin and is a fine representative of Swedish menswear from the 1950s, both in terms of its colour and cut. It is by the brand Klimax and was originally sold at the Josefsons store in Karlskrona, in the southernmost part of Sweden. It is made from a grey wool fabric with subtle turquoise flecks, featuring a discreet striped pattern of fine, closely spaced lines.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps as well as a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel, and the cuffs are finished with three buttons. The back is straight and ventless. Internally, it is fully lined and features three inner pockets – one large on each side and a smaller one on the left.
The trousers are typical of the period, with a high rise, single pleats, and slanted front pockets. They have belt loops and a zip fly. The hems are finished with turn-ups. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, both with button fastenings.
The condition is very good overall. The only flaws to note are minor discolourations in the lining of both the jacket and the trousers, as well as around the collar. Please study the images carefully and form your own opinion of the condition.
SIZE
The jacket corresponds roughly to a modern EU 46–48 (UK/US 36–38). The trousers are slightly larger, corresponding to approximately EU 48–50 (UK/US 38–40) based on the waist measurement. Please scroll down for the exact measurements.
