DESCRIPTION
This suit has no labels whatsoever, which makes it difficult to determine its exact origin. However, all indications suggest that it is of Swedish origin. A closer look at the construction makes it clear that it is bespoke - for example, both the lining and the buttonholes are hand-sewn. It is made from a relatively soft black fabric. A woven text inside one of the pockets reveals that the fabric is of British origin.
The jacket is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, of which two are functional. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and closed - it has no vent. The interior is fully lined and features an inside pocket on each side.
The trousers have double front pleats, slightly slanted front pockets, and a button fly. They have belt loops, and just to the left of the fly there is a coin pocket. At the back, there is a single pocket on the right side with a flap and button closure. The trousers are lined at the front down to just below the knees - an unusual detail that was likely a specific request from the original owner.
As for the condition, it is very good with little to remark upon. The suit appears to have been worn only sparingly: areas that typically show signs of wear are still fresh, and there are no visible flaws in the fabric. Please study the photos and form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
The sizing also clearly indicates that the suit is bespoke, as the jacket and trousers differ slightly in size. The jacket corresponds to a modern EU 54 (US/UK 44). The trousers, based on the waist measurement, fall between a modern EU 50 (US/UK 40) and EU 52 (US/UK 42). However, there is some excess fabric in the waist that can be let out if needed, allowing the trousers to be adjusted to better match the jacket’s chest size. Naturally, the human body is not built so that a given chest size always corresponds to a fixed waist size - one can of course have a larger chest than waist - but it is still useful to know that this alteration is technically possible.
