DESCRIPTION
This suit is of American origin, tailor-made by Lester L Grove in 1955. It is crafted from a heavy dark grey wool fabric, also of American origin – from Worumbo.
The jacket is single-breasted with a three-button front. It features horizontal flap pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight with a single vent. Internally, the jacket is half-lined – standard for American suits of the time – and has two inside pockets, one on each side.
The trousers have double pleats, vertical front pockets, and a zip fly. They have belt loops. At the back, there is one pocket on each side, with the left one fastened by a button. The trouser legs are finished with turn-ups.
The suit is in very good condition, with no visible damage to the fabric. The only notable issue is some light discolouration to the lining, which is considered normal for suits of this age. Please study the photos carefully to form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
The size corresponds to a modern EU 54 (UK/US 44). There is a generous seam allowance in the trouser waist, allowing for adjustment if needed. Please scroll down for exact measurements and available seam allowances.
