DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin, most likely produced sometime during the 1940s or possibly in the early 1950s by Tiger, a well-known Swedish ready-to-wear manufacturer. It was sold at a shop called Evert Johanson, located in Finspång, about 150 km from Stockholm. The suit is made from a heavy dark navy wool fabric with a subtle stripe.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal front pockets with welts and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and closed – it has no vents. Internally, it is fully lined with two inside pockets, one on each side.
The trousers have double forward pleats, slanted front pockets, and belt loops. They feature a button fly, and on the inside of the waistband there are buttons for braces. At the back, there is a pocket on each side, both with flaps and button closures.
The overall condition is very good, with no notable damage. The only minor flaw is some discolouration in the lining, particularly in the underarm area. However, this is not visible when the suit is worn and does not detract from the overall impression. Please study the photos carefully and form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
The size corresponds to a modern EU 52 (UK/US 42). There is extra fabric to let out the trousers, both in the waist and the length, if needed. Please scroll down for the exact measurements and seam allowances.
