DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin, produced by Hagenfeldt sometime during the 1960s. It is made from a grey wool fabric subtly interwoven with shades of grey and light blue. The suit is highly representative of the era, featuring many details that are strongly associated with 1960s tailoring.
The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with four buttons, resulting in a very high button stance. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. The buttons are covered, and the overall silhouette features rounded shapes – seen in the lapels, pocket flaps, and the curved hem of the jacket. The back is straight with two relatively short vents. Inside, it is fully lined with four inner pockets – one large pocket on each side, plus two smaller ones on the left.
The trousers feature period-typical diagonal front pockets, a zip fly, and belt loops. At the back, there is a large flap pocket on the right-hand side.
The condition of the suit is excellent, with no visible damage. The only minor issue is some very light discolouration in the pocket lining of the trousers – something commonly seen in vintage suits and not detracting from the overall impression. Please study the photos carefully and form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
The size corresponds to a modern EU 48 (UK/US 38). There is extra fabric to let out the trousers at both the waist and the length, if desired. Please scroll down for the exact measurements and seam allowances.
