DESCRIPTION

This suit is of Swedish origin, likely tailored sometime in the late 1940s, produced by Masterhand. The fabric is dark blue with a slightly purple undertone and features a subtle pinstripe.

The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and closed – it has no vent. Internally, the jacket is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side.

The trousers are typical of the era, with a high waist, double pleats, gently slanted front pockets, and a button fly. They feature a so-called belt tunnel, meaning any belt worn would be partially concealed within a channel along the waistband. Inside the waistband, there are buttons for braces. At the back, there are two buttoned pockets, one on each side. The trouser legs are finished with turn-ups.

As for the condition, there are a few things to note. The overall impression is good – there are no visible holes or major fabric damage. However, the suit does show signs of wear, particularly on the inner parts not visible when worn, especially in the trousers. There is also some wear at the neck, though this is not particularly noticeable when the suit is worn. The trousers show some sheen at the back due to wear; although the camera may exaggerate this effect, it can be seen upon closer inspection of that area. That said, the suit remains attractive, with its distinctive fabric, and deserves to be worn despite the aforementioned signs of use. The price reflects this wear. SIZE

The size corresponds to a modern EU 50 (UK/US 40). There is a fair amount of fabric in the waistband that could be let out if needed. The sleeves are relatively long, as they have been previously extended. This is not visible from the outside but can be seen in the lining where an insert has been added.
