DESCRIPTION
This three-piece suit is of Swedish origin, made bespoke in 1952 by Arvid Nylén in Sollefteå, in northern Sweden. It is crafted from a heavy yet soft dark gray wool fabric. The jacket is single-breasted, fastened with three buttons. It features horizontal front pockets with piping and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The lapels are relatively wide for its time, likely a request from the original wearer. The back is straight with no vents. Inside, the jacket is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side.
The vest is single-breasted, fastened with six buttons. It has four front pockets: two at chest height and two lower.
The trousers are characteristic of the era, with double pleats, a button fly, and belt loops, which means the belt sits partially hidden in a groove along the waistband. Inside the waistband, there are buttons for braces. The front pockets are vertical, and the back has two pockets, both with flaps and button closures.
The condition of the suit is generally very good. There is a small repair on the fabric of one trouser leg, which is not prominent and does not affect the overall appearance when worn. There are also some minor discolorations in the lining, particularly in the trousers. Please study the pictures and form your own opinion about the condition.
