SWEDISH 1950S GREY-GREEN TWO PIECE WORSTED WOOL SUIT BY TIGER. SIZE CA EU 50-52

DESCRIPTION

This suit is of Swedish origin and was likely produced sometime during the late 1950s. It is made by Tiger, a well-known Swedish tailoring company. It was originally sold in a men's clothing store called Söderbergs, located in Hofors, central Sweden. The suit is made from a worsted wool fabric that is dark grey with subtle red stripes. Upon closer inspection, one can also see a hint of green in the fabric. The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It has horizontal front pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and lacks a vent. Inside, the jacket is fully lined and features two inner pockets, one on each side.

The trousers have two front pleats, diagonal front pockets, and buttons for braces inside the waistband. They also have belt loops. The trousers fasten with a zipper at the fly and a hook-and-eye closure at the top. At the back, there are two pockets, one on each side, both fastened with buttons. The braces are attached on the outside of the waistband, and the centre seam has been opened up to give the trousers a "fishtail" effect, a detail that was common on older trousers.

The overall condition of the suit is good. There are some discolourations in the lining, but this does not affect the overall appearance when the suit is worn. There are no visible damages to the fabric. Please study the photos and form your own opinion on the condition.

SIZE

The jacket corresponds to a modern EU 50-52 (US/UK 40-42). The trousers originally matched the jacket size, but due to the aforementioned alteration in the waist, the trousers have increased in size to an EU 56 (US/UK 46) when only considering the waist measurement.
