DESCRIPTION
This is an unusual suit. It has no label, but we can confidently say that it is of Swedish origin. It was most likely made sometime in the 1930s. The fabric is among the heaviest we've ever seen in a suit, a grey wool fabric. When handling the suit, it feels more like a coat than a suit, that’s how thick it is. The jacket is double-breasted, with a high fastening and three buttons. It features low-set horizontal front pockets with flaps, and it also has breast pockets. The back is straight and lacks a vent. Inside, it is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side.
The trousers have a front pleat and vertical front pockets. They feature the so-called tunnel loop, which means that the belt (if worn) is partially concealed in a track along the waistband. There are also buttons for braces inside the waistband. The trousers have a button fly.
The condition of the suit is very good considering its age. However, there are a few small details to mention. There are no damages to the fabric, but there are some minor discolorations in the lining, especially in the pockets. There is also an external stain just below the right back pocket of the trousers. Please review the photos and form your own opinion regarding the condition.
SIZE
The jacket corresponds to a modern EU 48 (US/UK 38). The trousers are slightly larger based on the waist measurement, corresponding to a modern EU 50 (US/UK 40). It’s worth noting that the trousers are raw length, meaning they should be hemmed to the appropriate length by the new owner. Please scroll down for the exact measurements and seam allowances.
