DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin, made bespoke in 1957 by Henry Törnsten, a renowned menswear store in Gothenburg that was founded already in 1855. Unfortunately, the shop has been closed for many years. The suit is typical for its time in terms of cut. The jacket is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, two of which are used. It has horizontal front pockets with piping and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and has no vent. The interior is fully lined and has three inner pockets: one large pocket on each side and a smaller one on the left side.
The trousers feature double front pleats, horizontal front pockets, and belt loops. There are buttons for braces inside the waistband. The trousers fasten with a zipper, and there are two back pockets, both with button closures.
The suit is in excellent condition overall, with no noticeable fabric damage. The only issue is some discoloration in the lining, especially in the trouser pockets. There are also some signs of discoloration in the armholes. However, these imperfections do not affect the overall impression when the suit is worn. Please refer to the pictures and form your own opinion about the condition.
SIZE
The jacket corresponds to a modern EU 52 (US/UK 42). The trousers are slightly smaller in waist measurement, closer to a modern EU 50 (US/UK 40). There is no material to let out in the waistband, so the wearer should have a relatively slim waist in proportion to the chest measurement to fit this suit.
