DESCRIPTION
We don’t know much about this suit other than that it seems to be of German origin, likely made sometime in the 1960s, or possibly the late 1950s. It has a label that reads "LeKaWe," a manufacturer we are not familiar with. It is not quite made in the traditional Swedish style and features "reinwollenes kammgarn," which leads us to conclude that it is German. The jacket is double-breasted with two rows of buttons, only one of which is used. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. Both lapels have a buttonhole. The back is straight and lacks a vent. Inside, it is fully lined and has three inner pockets: one large on each side, plus a smaller one on the left side.
The trousers have double pleats, vertical front pockets with piping, and a coin pocket on the right side just below the waistband. They have a button fly and adjustable waistband sizing. Inside the waistband, there are buttons for suspenders. There are also two back pockets, both with flaps.
The condition of the suit is generally good; one must look closely to find any flaws. There is a small tear in one of the pocket linings, and some minor discoloration in the lining in a few places, but this in no way affects the overall impression. Please review the pictures and form your own opinion about the condition.
SIZE
The jacket corresponds to a modern EU 50 (US/UK 40). The trousers are slightly smaller in the waist, corresponding to a modern EU 48 (US/UK 38). Please scroll down for exact measurements and sewing details.
