DESCRIPTION

This suit lacks a label, but we can confidently say that it is of Swedish origin and was likely made sometime in the late 1940s or early 1950s. It is made from a fabric with a distinctive pattern that we have never seen before. This is typical of the era. You can see that there was once a label under one of the inner pockets, but it has been removed for an unknown reason.

The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with two buttons. The fastening is relatively low and the lapels are wide. It features horizontal pockets with piping and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and has a vent. It is fully lined inside and has three inner pockets: one large pocket on each side, plus a smaller extra pocket on the left side.

The trousers are high-waisted, with double pleats in the front and diagonal front pockets. They also have a coin pocket on the right side just below the waistband. Inside the waistband, there are buttons for braces. They feature a so-called tunnel loop, meaning that if you choose to wear a belt, it is partially hidden in the front in a kind of channel, but the belt loops are visible on the back. This was a very common way of making trousers in Sweden during the 1940s. On the back, there are two pockets, both with flaps and button closures. The trousers have cuffs and a zipper fly.

The condition is overall very good, except for a few small holes in the fabric. One is located below one of the front pockets, and the other is at one of the cuff openings. These can be seen in the pictures. If you look at the lining inside the trousers, it is likely that the suit has not been worn much at all. The holes have not come from wear but rather from storage. The significance you place on these small holes is entirely up to the wearer; they do not affect the overall impression, but they become noticeable upon closer inspection.
