DESCRIPTION
This elegant three piece suit dates back to the 1940s or possibly early 1950s. It was commissioned by Ströms, a large haberdashery in Stockholm that is still present. The cloth has a blue tone with a subtle striped pattern. The single breasted jacket has a three button closure, horizontal front pockets and one breast pocket. It has a plain back with no vent. It is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side. The waistcoat is single breasted and has a six button closure. It has four horizontal front pockets and one adjuster in the back. It has one inner pocket, on the left side. The trousers are double pleated and has vertical front pockets and belt loops. They have buttons from braces and a button fly with button closure in top. They have two pockets in the back, one on each side., both with button closure. The overall condition of the suit is great, there are no obvious signs of wear. Please have a look at the images and evaluate.
SIZE
The jacket would best be described as a modern size EU 50 (US/UK40). Both the waistcoat and the trousers has been altered to a larger size, the waistcoat would correspond to a modern size 54 (US/UK44) and the trousers are even slightly larger, corresponding to a modern size EU 56 (US/UK 46). Both could of course be taken back to the original measurements. Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowance.
