DESCRIPTION
This elegant suit was commissioned in Mars 1955 by Holms Skrädderi in Norrtälje, a small town just north of Stockholm. It is made in a grey fabric with a salient chalk stripe pattern. The jacket has a three row double breasted closure of which two are used. It has horizontal front pockets and one breast pocket. It has a plain back with no vent. It is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side. The trousers are high waisted and are double pleated. They have buttons for braces on the outside, probably a conservative choice of the original owner, in 1955 buttons for braces were normally fastened on the inside of the waistband. They have button fly with a hook closure in top. They have vertical front pockets and two back pockets, both with button closure. The trousers have turn ups. The overall condition of the suit is great considering its age. There are no visible damages when worn. But there are som spots of discoloration in the lining, especially in the pocket. Please have a look at the images and evaluate the condition.
SIZE
The size of the jacket would best be described as a modern size EU 50 (US/UK40). The trousers are slightly larger, equivalent to a modern size EU 52 (US/UK 42). Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowance.
