DESCRIPTION
This waistcoat is of Norwegian origin, as indicated by the labels that are still attached to one side. It is therefore deadstock, meaning it has never been worn. It was made sometime during the 1930s or 1940s, almost certainly in Norway. It is tailored from a black wool cloth with fine light-coloured stripes running at regular intervals, giving it a bold striped appearance overall.
The waistcoat is single-breasted and fastens with six buttons. It features three front pockets—one breast pocket on the left-hand side and two lower pockets, one on each side. At the back is an adjustable buckle for altering the fit at the waist.
As mentioned above, the waistcoat is completely unworn and in perfect condition. It is unclear whether it was originally part of a suit or intended as an odd waistcoat. However, with its distinctive pattern, it would make an excellent odd waistcoat. Please examine the photographs carefully and form your own assessment of the condition.
