DESCRIPTION
This short leather jacket is of Swedish origin. It bears no labels except for the one at the back of the neck stating “genuine goatskin guaranteed,” but it can still be confidently dated to the 1950s and is likely produced in the Malung area, in the province of Dalarna. It is dark brown and features a short, classic cut. The jacket fastens with a zipper and has slightly angled front pockets. The sides are equipped with buckles to adjust the fit, and the back is straight. The interior is lined with grey teddy fabric in the body and silver-coloured silk in the sleeves. There is also an inner pocket on the right side.
Overall, the condition is good, though closer inspection reveals a few minor imperfections. There are small scuffs in the leather in some areas, but nothing significant. The lining is slightly worn, and the sleeve lining is a little discoloured at the cuffs. However, none of this affects the overall appearance when worn. Please study the photos to form your own impression of the condition.

It corresponds approximately to a modern EU 46 (UK/US 36).

Sweden had a prominent leather industry during the first half of the 20th century, largely concentrated in Malung, in the province of Dalarna. Some of that heritage can be found here with us in the form of leather jackets in various styles, often made from goatskin. The high level of craftsmanship and the quality of the leather are distinctive features of garments from this period.

Renovateur Cream is the “must-have” product for any leather goods aficionado. Containing beeswax, lanolin and mink oil, it gently cleans while adding nourishment and protection to the leather. Renovateur Cream is highly regarded by leather care specialists as the best leather care product in the world!
Ensure all dirt and dust is removed from the shoes. Buff shoes with a brush. For a more in-depth clean, use the Saphir Beauté du Cuir Cleaning Lotion (ref. 0544).
Apply Crème 1925 sparingly using a cotton cloth or the Saphir Médaille d’Or Spreading Brush (ref. 2601).
Massage into the leather in a circular motion, enabling the cream to penetrate and nourish the leather. This will ensure a good layer of protection. Leave it to dry for one hour.
Polish leather with a bristle brush then finish with a wool cloth or glove.
Once a base coat of Crème 1925 has been applied, simply re-buff the shoe following wear to maintain the shine.
