DESCRIPTION
This jacket will keep you warm even in the harshest winds! It was produced sometime during the 1950s or 1960s by the company Skinnspecialisten ("The Leather Specialist"). The business was founded in Stockholm in the late 1940s but relocated a few years later to Malung, in the province of Dalarna - Sweden’s hub for leather production at the time. Skinnspecialisten experienced rapid growth, opening stores across the country; at one point, there were four locations in Stockholm alone. However, the decline came just as quickly, and by 1969, the company had gone bankrupt.
This jacket is made from black goatskin. It is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, plus an extra button at the collar. It features horizontal front pockets with flaps and vertical chest pockets - plenty of storage! At the waist, it is belted.
What really makes this jacket stand out is what you’ll find inside - it is fully lined in the body with soft, high-quality white sheepskin. There is also an interior pocket on the left side.
The overall condition of the jacket is excellent. This type of jacket rarely comes with a fur lining, and when it does, the fur is often heavily worn. That is not the case here. At the very bottom, there is a slight discoloration visible upon close inspection, but overall, the sheepskin lining is in excellent condition. The leather is also in great shape, with no notable flaws or damage. The most visible sign of wear is at the ends of the sleeve linings, where there is clear friction wear. However, this is not visible when the jacket is worn and is not something we believe will require repair. Please refer to the photos and make your own assessment of the condition.

Sweden had a prominent leather industry during the first half of the 20th century, largely concentrated in Malung, in the province of Dalarna. Some of that heritage can be found here with us in the form of leather jackets in various styles, often made from goatskin. The high level of craftsmanship and the quality of the leather are distinctive features of garments from this period.

Renovateur Cream is the “must-have” product for any leather goods aficionado. Containing beeswax, lanolin and mink oil, it gently cleans while adding nourishment and protection to the leather. Renovateur Cream is highly regarded by leather care specialists as the best leather care product in the world!
Ensure all dirt and dust is removed from the shoes. Buff shoes with a brush. For a more in-depth clean, use the Saphir Beauté du Cuir Cleaning Lotion (ref. 0544).
Apply Crème 1925 sparingly using a cotton cloth or the Saphir Médaille d’Or Spreading Brush (ref. 2601).
Massage into the leather in a circular motion, enabling the cream to penetrate and nourish the leather. This will ensure a good layer of protection. Leave it to dry for one hour.
Polish leather with a bristle brush then finish with a wool cloth or glove.
Once a base coat of Crème 1925 has been applied, simply re-buff the shoe following wear to maintain the shine.
