DESCRIPTION
This leather jacket is of Swedish origin. Unfortunately, it no longer has any labels, but we can confidently say that it was produced in Sweden sometime during the 1940s or 1950s. The jacket is short in style, with a belt at the waist that fastens easily with a hook in the front, and elastic in the back. It is single-breasted and fastens with four buttons, plus an extra button if you wish to fasten it all the way up. It has a detachable collar made of brown teddy fur. The jacket features vertical chest pockets with flap and button closure, and slightly lower slanted pockets, also with flap and button closure. The back is closed, and it lacks a vent. The interior is fully lined with a checkered wool fabric in various brown tones with a green square. It has an inner pocket on the right side.
The condition is generally good, but not perfect. There are some fabric damages in a few places, but nothing more than one would expect from a leather jacket of this age. It has been worn over the years and has developed a patina. Please look at the pictures and form your own opinion about the condition.
SIZE
The jacket is labeled "56," but the actual size is somewhat smaller, closer to a modern EU 54 (US/UK44). Please scroll down for the exact measurements.

Sweden had a prominent leather industry during the first half of the 20th century, largely concentrated in Malung, in the province of Dalarna. Some of that heritage can be found here with us in the form of leather jackets in various styles, often made from goatskin. The high level of craftsmanship and the quality of the leather are distinctive features of garments from this period.

Renovateur Cream is the “must-have” product for any leather goods aficionado. Containing beeswax, lanolin and mink oil, it gently cleans while adding nourishment and protection to the leather. Renovateur Cream is highly regarded by leather care specialists as the best leather care product in the world!
Ensure all dirt and dust is removed from the shoes. Buff shoes with a brush. For a more in-depth clean, use the Saphir Beauté du Cuir Cleaning Lotion (ref. 0544).
Apply Crème 1925 sparingly using a cotton cloth or the Saphir Médaille d’Or Spreading Brush (ref. 2601).
Massage into the leather in a circular motion, enabling the cream to penetrate and nourish the leather. This will ensure a good layer of protection. Leave it to dry for one hour.
Polish leather with a bristle brush then finish with a wool cloth or glove.
Once a base coat of Crème 1925 has been applied, simply re-buff the shoe following wear to maintain the shine.
