DESCRIPTION
This jacket was produced in the 1940s and is of Swedish origin. It was made by Bröderna Perssons Skinn och Pälsvaru AB in Malung. Malung was Sweden's centre for leather production during the first half of the 20th century. The jacket has a lovely mid-brown tone, which is easy to pair with various outfits. It is single-breasted with a total of four buttons. It features four front pockets: two lower diagonal pockets and two vertical chest-height pockets with flaps and button closures. The jacket is belted at the waist at the front, and has elastic in the back. It also has shoulder epaulets. The jacket is fully lined with a checkered fabric made from 100% wool. These types of jackets were marketed as sports jackets, and they offer good mobility when worn.
The condition is exceptionally good; the leather is incredibly soft and smooth, making it almost look brand new. The lining is also in excellent condition, and the jacket has likely been very sparingly used, if at all. Please have a look at the photos and form your own opinion regarding its condition.
SIZE
The size corresponds to a modern EU 52-54 (US/UK 42-44). As always with this type of jacket, what you wear underneath makes a significant difference to the fit. Please scroll down for the exact measurements and seam allowances.

Sweden had a prominent leather industry during the first half of the 20th century, largely concentrated in Malung, in the province of Dalarna. Some of that heritage can be found here with us in the form of leather jackets in various styles, often made from goatskin. The high level of craftsmanship and the quality of the leather are distinctive features of garments from this period.
MAINTAIN YOUR VINTAGE LEATHERWEAR WITH:
Renovateur Cream is the “must-have” product for any leather goods aficionado. Containing beeswax, lanolin and mink oil, it gently cleans while adding nourishment and protection to the leather. Renovateur Cream is highly regarded by leather care specialists as the best leather care product in the world!
Ensure all dirt and dust is removed from the shoes. Buff shoes with a brush. For a more in-depth clean, use the Saphir Beauté du Cuir Cleaning Lotion (ref. 0544).
Apply Crème 1925 sparingly using a cotton cloth or the Saphir Médaille d’Or Spreading Brush (ref. 2601).
Massage into the leather in a circular motion, enabling the cream to penetrate and nourish the leather. This will ensure a good layer of protection. Leave it to dry for one hour.
Polish leather with a bristle brush then finish with a wool cloth or glove.
Once a base coat of Crème 1925 has been applied, simply re-buff the shoe following wear to maintain the shine.
