This is a very typical Swedish trench coat, produced sometime during the 1930s or 1940s by Funk. Funk was a youth brand that was at its peak during the 1940s. The coat is made from a heavy twill fabric in a brown-grey tone, very typical of Swedish trench coats from this period. It fastens with four rows of buttons, along with three smaller buttons at the collar if you want to fasten it all the way up. It features large diagonal front pockets and buttonholes on both lapels. Additionally, it has the signature trench coat details such as a belt, shoulder epaulets, and cuff details. The back has a high vent. Inside, it is fully lined. The coat originally had a removable liner attached to buttonholes in the fixed lining, but this removable liner has not been preserved.
The condition of the coat is generally good, but not perfect. There are some discolorations and stains, primarily in the lining. However, there are also a few smaller stains on the exterior. There are also a couple of small repairs. None of these issues significantly affect the overall impression, but they should be taken into consideration if you are contemplating a purchase. Please review the images and form your own opinion on the condition of the coat.
