DESCRIPTION
This overcoat is of Swedish origin and was produced by Örnkläder, a well-known Swedish ready-to-wear manufacturer based in Karlstad, in central Sweden. It was sold new at Bröderna Johansson, a menswear shop in Falkenberg, in southern Sweden. It was made around 1950, give or take a few years. It is made from a substantial wool cloth in a colour best described as pigeon blue, a typical overcoat colour for this period.
The overcoat is double-breasted and has three rows of buttons, two of which are used for fastening. It has slanted front pockets and a buttonhole in each lapel. At the back, it has a half-belt and a single vent. Internally, it is fully lined and has two internal pockets, one on each side.
The condition is good, although not entirely perfect. There is some slight wear to the buttonholes, as well as a very small area of damage to the cloth near one of the side seams. Neither of these issues has any noticeable impact on the overall impression of the overcoat. Please study the photos and form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
The overcoat corresponds approximately to a modern EU 46 (US/UK 36). Please scroll down for exact measurements and seam allowances.
