DESCRIPTION
This is a fine raglan overcoat of Swedish origin. It is by Rang, a brand that was at the height of its popularity during this period, the 1940s. It was sold new at Hedbergs, a well-known menswear shop in Norrköping. The cloth, however, is British, made by Glendale. It is a very substantial, high-quality cotton overcoating cloth in dark grey, with a twill structure.
As mentioned, the overcoat is of raglan construction and is single-breasted, with a concealed button fastening. It fastens with four buttons. It has vertical front pockets and a buttonhole in the left lapel. At the back, it is straight-cut and has a single vent. Internally, it is fully lined and partially quilted. The construction is of a very high standard. There are two internal pockets, one on each side.
The condition is excellent, virtually as new. We have been unable to find any defects apart from wear to the small hanging loop at the back of the neck. The cloth around the loop is also slightly worn, suggesting that something may have happened in that area. However, this is not visible when the overcoat is worn, and it takes careful inspection to notice. Please study the photos carefully and form your own impression of the condition.
