This overcoat is of Swedish origin and was sold new at Fröjds, a menswear shop in Stockholm. It has a label at the back of the neck which is worn, but those familiar with Fröjds labels will still be able to identify it as such. The overcoat was made sometime during the 1930s. The cloth is a substantial dark navy-blue wool with a subtle herringbone pattern.
The overcoat is single-breasted and fastens with four buttons at the front. It has a concealed button fastening. It has horizontal front pockets with flaps and a buttonhole in the left lapel. There are three buttons at each cuff. At the back, it is straight-cut and has a single vent. Internally, the overcoat is fully lined and has one internal pocket on each side.
The overall condition is good, particularly considering the age of the overcoat. The lining is generally in good condition. The main points worth mentioning are some minor wear to the buttonholes, which is not unusual in overcoats of this age. However, given the concealed fastening, this has virtually no impact on the overall appearance, as the wear is only visible when the overcoat is opened and the buttonholes viewed from the inside. There is also a small area of damage to the cloth on the right-hand side of the overcoat, but this is only noticeable on close inspection. Please study the photos carefully and form your own impression of the condition.
