DESCRIPTION
This elegant black overcoat is of Swedish origin. It was sold new sometime during the 1930s at a menswear shop in Enköping, just outside Stockholm. It is made from a densely woven black wool cloth, very typical of the period.
The overcoat is double-breasted and has three rows of buttons, all of which are functional. It has horizontal front pockets with substantial pocket flaps, and there is a buttonhole in each lapel. The back is straight and has a deep vent. There is one button at each cuff. Inside, the overcoat is fully lined with a quilted lining. It is very well made internally and has one inner pocket on each side.
The overall condition is very good. On closer inspection, however, a number of minor imperfections become apparent. Some of the buttons have minor damage, and there is also some wear to a few of the buttonholes. There is a small area of damage to the cloth on one sleeve. The hanging loop at the back of the neck has come apart. Inside, the overcoat is in very good condition. Please study the photographs and form your own opinion of the condition.
