This coat is of American origin and made by Wicks & Greenman, based in Utica, New York. It was produced sometime during the 1960s and is tailored from a dark navy wool fabric featuring a Glen check pattern. The cloth is of Italian origin, as indicated by the label in the neck.
The coat is cut in a raglan style and is single-breasted. It fastens with three buttons, plus an additional button at the neck should one wish to fasten it all the way up. It features slanted front pockets and a buttonhole on the left lapel. The cuffs have decorative turn-ups adorned with a button. The back is straight with a single vent. Internally, the coat is fully lined and has one pocket on the right-hand side.
In terms of condition, the overall impression is good; however, there are some minor signs of wear visible upon closer inspection. These consist mainly of slight discolouration at the cuffs and in the fold of the collar. There is also a small flaw in the fabric. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion regarding the condition.
SIZE
In terms of size, the coat corresponds to a modern EU 48 (US/UK38). Please note that our size assessment is based on wearing a jacket underneath; if worn over lighter garments, the coat may also fit someone slightly larger than the stated size. Please scroll down for full measurements.
