SWEDISH 1930S-1940S DARK GREY RAGLAN OVERCOAT BY KABOM. SIZE CA EU 48-50

DESCRIPTION

This raglan coat is of Swedish origin and was made sometime during the 1930s or 1940s. It is by the brand KABOM and was originally sold at a menswear outfitter named Wahlbergs, located in Hedemora, a small town in central Sweden. The coat is made from a heavy wool cloth which is grey in colour with a light mélange texture.

The coat is single-breasted and fastens with four buttons. It has a concealed button front. It features vertical front pockets, and there is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and has a vent. Inside, it is fully lined and neatly constructed. The way the lining is sewn is very typical of the 1930s: the lining is finished with jetted edges, and the lining fabric curves around the inner pockets – very well executed.

As for the condition, there are a few things worth noting. The sleeves have been lengthened at some point. This is visible if you examine the sleeve ends closely. It is not particularly noticeable at a quick glance and does not affect the overall impression, but it should be mentioned for anyone considering a purchase. The buttons have also faded somewhat. The camera exaggerates this effect; if you compare the photos to the actual garment after purchase, you will likely be pleasantly surprised. Still, the fading becomes more apparent under strong studio lighting. Please study the photographs and form your own view of the condition.
