DESCRIPTION
This coat is of Swedish origin. It was made sometime during the 1940s and is from the brand Derber, a label produced in Uppsala, just north of Stockholm. When new, the coat was sold at Emanuel Carlson Konfektion, a shop located in Sölvesborg in southern Sweden. It is made from a very heavy dark blue fabric with a subtle herringbone pattern. In certain lighting, the colour even leans slightly towards purple.
It is single-breasted with a concealed fastening consisting of three buttons. It has slightly slanted front pockets, and there is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and features a vent. Internally, it is fully lined and has two inside pockets, one on each side.
The overall condition is very good; the only real point to note is some wear on the lower two buttonholes. However, this does not affect the general impression, particularly since the coat has a concealed fastening. Please study the photos and form your own impression of the condition.
SIZE
In terms of size, it falls between a modern EU 46 (US/UK 36) and EU 48 (US/UK 38). As is usually the case with coats, the fit will depend greatly on what is worn underneath. Note that the stated size assumes it is worn over a jacket. Please scroll down for the exact measurements.
