DESCRIPTION
This overcoat is of Swedish origin, custom-tailored in 1948 by Ströms Herrekipering in Stockholm. Ströms is one of the few traditional menswear outfitters in Stockholm that still exists today. The coat is made from a heavy black wool fabric with a slightly felted texture.
It is single-breasted with a concealed button placket and fastens with four buttons. The coat features horizontal front pockets with flaps and a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight with a center vent. Inside, it is fully lined and includes two inner pockets, one on each side.
The condition is very good overall, with very little to remark upon. One of the buttons has become slightly discolored, though this is only noticeable upon close inspection and, thanks to the concealed front, has minimal effect on the overall appearance. The only visible sign of wear is some light fraying at the sleeve ends, which also requires close inspection to notice. To summarize, the overall impression is excellent. Please refer to the photos to form your own judgment of the condition.
SIZE
The fit is between a modern EU 48 (US/UK 38) and EU 50 (US/UK 40). As with any overcoat, the exact fit will depend greatly on what is worn underneath. Please scroll down for the exact measurements.
