DESCRIPTION
This dressing gown has no labels, so it is difficult to be certain about its origin. However, it is most likely Swedish and was made sometime during the 1940s or 1950s. It is crafted from red silk fabric with a blue and white polka dot pattern. The gown is double-sided, meaning that when you open it, you don't see the reverse side of the fabric; instead, it has the same fabric on the inside as on the outside. This gives it a bit more weight than a typical silk dressing gown, as it is made from twice the amount of fabric. It features two large horizontal front pockets, a shawl collar, and a belt that stays in place with the help of belt loops.
The condition is generally good considering the type of garment and its age. However, there are a few minor issues to note. There is a slight discolouration on the collar, and on the left side of the lapel, there is a small stain. This, however, is not very noticeable and takes time to spot – you have to study the fabric closely.
Please study the pictures and form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
In terms of size, it corresponds to a modern EU 46 (US/UK 36) based on the chest measurement. However, this type of garment is not as size-sensitive as, for example, a blazer. A person who normally wears EU 48 (US/UK 38) would most likely be able to wear this dressing gown and be satisfied with the fit. However, the sleeves are quite short, so we believe it would be best suited for someone not taller than 180 cm (6'0").
