DESCRIPTION
This coat is of Swedish origin, made sometime during the 1940s or 1950s. It is by the brand Örnkläder, a label produced by AB B. Bergson & Söner in Karlstad, central Sweden. The coat was later sold in a store called Elkans, located in Sala, a small town just over 100 km from Stockholm. The fabric is British, a heavy grey wool twill produced by A. Joseph Sykes, Huddersfield, England.
The coat is single-breasted with concealed buttoning. It fastens with four buttons. It has vertical front pockets, and there is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight with a vent. The interior is fully lined and partially quilted, featuring two inner pockets, one on each side.
The condition of the coat is very good, with no noticeable damage; it appears to have been barely used. The lining is also in perfect condition. Please refer to the photos and form your own opinion on its condition.
SIZE
The size corresponds to a modern EU 50 (US/UK 40). However, as always with this type of garment, it depends on what you wear underneath. If you wear something thinner underneath, a person who is EU 52 (US/UK 42) might wear the coat, but if you would like to be able to wear a jacket underneath, you should be around EU 50 (US/UK 40).
