DESCRIPTION
This coat is of Swedish origin and was most likely made sometime during the 1940s. It does not have a manufacturer label, but it does carry a label from "Svensk Filmindustri" (Swedish Film Industry). This indicates that it was used in film productions at Filmstaden in Råsunda (Solna), which was Sweden's own version of Universal Studios during the first half of the 20th century. A significant portion of Sweden's film productions were shot here.
The coat has a distinctive green tone, a somewhat unusual color for a Swedish coat from this era. It is made from a herringbone tweed fabric that, up close, almost has a turquoise tone. From a distance, however, the coat appears to have a dull green tone. The coat is of a raglan style, single-breasted, fastened with four buttons, and has a concealed button closure. It features large patch pockets with flaps and a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back of the coat is straight and has a vent. It is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side.
Overall, the condition is good, but there are some minor fabric damages. The most noticeable is along the front, but the fabric’s texture makes the damage quite difficult to see at a glance. It doesn’t affect the overall impression, but it becomes apparent when closely examined. Please refer to the images to form your own opinion on the condition and any imperfections.
SIZE
In size, it corresponds to a modern EU 50 (US/UK 40). As always, what you wear underneath will affect the fit. Without a jacket, someone who typically wears EU 52 (US/UK 42) could also comfortably wear this coat. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
